CompanyLocated in the Rocky Mountains of Utah, Vegetronix was newly founded in 2008 for the purpose of commercializing a brand new patent pending soil moisture sensor technology. Prior to the Vegetronix Moisture Probe, soil moisture sensors where bulky, and expensive, making them prohibitive to the mass commercial market. Seeing a market opportunity, the founder of Vegetronix, figured out a new affordable method of measuring soil moisture by measuring the permittivity of soil, which happens to be directly proportional to the water content. Others had attempted to do this but used complex and expensive electronics to do the the task. What set the Vegetronix solution apart is that it was able to measure this soil permittivity using just a few simple electronic components which are found in any AM-radio. Water conservation is becoming increasingly important, as world population grows, and global warming concerns are raised. Vegetronix is poised to to be a world leader in the water conservation movement. Vegetronix is in business to bring soil water measurement and conservation to the masses. Every sprinkler and irrigation system in the world can now afford to implement water saving technology.
