Fill the planters with potting soil, leaving 1/2 inch(12cm) space from the top. Moisten soil with water, and plant seeds. Place the water retention lid on, to keep the seeds moist.
Remove the water retention lid, when the seeds touch the lid.
Place on a window which gets at least 6 hours of sun each day.
Water daily, with 1/4 cup of water. If water is overflowing from the bottom water saucer, you are over watering.
